Miscellaneous

Sadly, while filming, I never really thought to get any pictures. A heavy regret. But I do have these, which are pretty significant. These were during my Campus 3 and sometime after where I talked with my good friend Gabriel and came up with the idea for "The Block". The location was what really sparked the idea and Ijams was an original idea for one of the locations of the film. Hope you enjoy my manly filming poses.

Funfacts:

Tyler Miller was originally going to be cast as the Spirit of the Forest, but due to time constraints, Eric had to fill in.

Joey would usually send "This is they Way!" or "I had a good feeling!" to Katie during Campus 3 and some of the reports in the weekly log for Campus 4. This is a reference to one of Joey's favorite games.

Gabriel is the only character with a name change in the film. All others use their actual name.

Once Jeremy finishes talking to Joey about how games are art, Joey begins wearing a game shirt in every other scene.

Joey doesn't actually have a name in the film. His name is never stated and he goes by Protagonist in descriptions.

The clock scene had to be filmed a few times because of noisy cell phones and passing by cars.

Robert Frost, which Joey reads about in the film, is actually one of Joey's favorite poets.

The cat that is walking down the path in the montage actually belongs to Joey's Aunt. The cat is named Luna!

Despite being a poet, Gabriel is actually holding a book about Mythology in his opening scene.

Script

Sorry, Katie, but I'm not seeing a place to upload a pdf. file. To be honest, It's the same script as I made in Broadcast 3. If you'd like me to resend that file, I'll be glad to!

Release Forms

The original release forms will be given to Katie Lovett for her record, and a copy will be made to be kept by Joey Hurst. No forms shall be posted here for security reasons.

Callender

2/2/15

Discussion and planning for the film days were started this day. No filming occurred and Joey was the only one needed for this day.

2/11/15

This was the first day of filming. Patrick Rollins helped with filming scenes that had Joey acting as talent in them. The shoot continued with the scenes that contained our actor, Jeremy Burchfield. This concluded two scenes in one day.

3/2/15

Filming commenced once again. The scenes that had Gabriel acting out his scenes were filmed and completed. Jeremy Burchfield assisted with microphone for this shoot.

3/16/15

The biggest filming session took place. A lot of B footage was acquired for the montage segment of the film and Eric Dalton's acting parts were filmed as well.

3/23/15
The two final Scenes were finished up this week. Joey took some solo shots for the ending of the film. The scene with Tiffany Phillips occurred later that night. Jeremy Burchfield once again assisted with the boom mic.

4/14/15
Joey spent most of the day trying to capture all the footage with a lot of difficulty, but eventual success!

4/20/15
The entirety of the film was edited and the film was completed. Only Joey was needed for this.

Attendance

The only one who was with me attendance wise would be Patrick Rollins, which only needed to be there once to act as an extra camera hand. His assistance was on 2/2/15 when the first shootings began. All other actors were present when needed. There were no absences of any kind, save for days when school was canceled.

Week 11

4/27/15

All of the work has been completed at this time.  The last two weeks were spent capturing the footage and editing the work all together. There were a few issues with the capture deck, which caused a bit of footage lost, but the story altogether is coherent and that is what really matters to me.

I want to thank everyone that helped along the way and am proud of the work that was accomplished.

Week 9

Another huge jump for the production, it seems. I have recently moved and because so, have had troubles with getting internet. A lot has happened, so I intend to catch everything up with this post.

Around week 7, production of "The Block" started up again with one of the largest scenes. Eric Dalton plays the Spirit in the Forest in the film. This brings our character to reflect on nature rather than something man made. The scene features conversation between them, as well as a montage of nice scenery.

Week 8 brought us the final scene in the production. Our character is given some advice from a friend of his. She is a patient artist who informs our protagonists to take his time, rather than worry about nothing coming to him immediately. The last scene is our main character looking at his computer screen after a few weeks. This gets us all the footage needed.

Week 9, this week, will be the editing of the production as well as getting narration for some parts of the film. Thank you for your patience while I've tried to get things together! I have a good feeling!

Week 6

Week 6

I didn't make a post for the last two weeks due to lack of internet, and lack of activity. Last Wednesday I did get to film one of the scenes, but found it easier to just update it in this post. I was able to get the Poet scene featuring Gabriel Figurela to play as our eccentric poet, who helps the protagonists along the way. Nothing more will be accomplished this week besides review and planning, as it is spring break. Production will be full swing after this week! This is the way!

Week 3

2/16/15

As I'm sure it was a problem with everyone, my progress was hindered most of the week because of the snow that pretty much canceled this whole week of school. I am late at getting this posted because of the power outage at my house. Next week will bring a lot more results. For now, all that was accomplished was getting some narration down and some sound files.

Week 2

2/9/15

I believe filming can now commence! Our first shoot will be Wednesday 2/11/15. This will consist of shooting the first segment of the film, where the main character is having trouble with his music. If weather allows and fortune is on our side, we will try and get the second segment done as well. That will consist of our first volunteer actor, Jeremy Burchfiled, playing a video game enthusiast who tries to encourage our downtrodden protagonist. Here's hoping! This is the way!

Patrick Rollins and I will try and get this all filmed during the day.

Week 1

2/2/15

Today starts the beginning of the film process!

At the moment, the current objective is to obtain a car so I can get to the film locations I have listed. No actual filming will commence this week, and I am hoping that can start around the beginning of next week. All that will be focused on this week is getting the order of filming right and working out getting the equipment needed. Once we start, we'll be going full speed ahead! This is the way!
